Presession of the Equinoxes tutorial

 Presession of the Equinoxes tutorial

This is a small simple to use FREE AND ADD FREE educational app designed to show how the earth's wobble effects the position of the equator and the earth's poles over a long period of time, thus completely changing the weather patterns and the locations of glaciers and deserts around the globe.

Everyone knows the earth spins, that is how we get day and night, but also the earth is tilted on it's axis at 21.5 degrees, and while it spins this tilt also spins, like a top winding down, but very slowly. It takes about 23,600 years for it to spin 1 time, It was discovered long ago and is directly related to the zodiac, they noticed that on the winter solstice every 2150 years that the sun rose in a different constelation, the last one occured at year 0 when we entered the constelation of Pisces and we will enter the next one, Aquarius, in the year 2150. notice that it seems backwards? well it is, and that's why it's called the Presession of the Equinoxes.

To use the app:

tap a zodiac sign to see what the positioning of the earth and what year it will be for the start of each zodiac sign

double tap to go directly to the start year of the selected zodiac sign

With the + and - button you can scroll through the days of the year both forward and back, and observe the Earth orbiting the sun, and see the difference in how much light (hotter) and shadow (colder) change in summer and winter of the earth over time due to the presession of the equinoxes.

tap the clock to manually enter a year, Note there's also a reset button now to the right of the clock that you can tap to reset to the current year, date and time. Once entered tap the clock again to see the angle's progression

press your phone's back button to exit the app

Tap the About button on the upper left under the clock to view this tutorial
